I am a Christian home school mother and married to a wonderful guy. I have 5 children ages 7-19, but am currently only homeschooling my two youngest ones. The three oldest ones are currently attending a charter high school, 2 of which will graduate this spring, and the other one next year. The have all 3 also attended classes at the local community college and my oldest daughter will have her EMT Basic certificate this spring also.
I did not decide to homeschool until my two youngest ones were about ready to start school. I guess the thought just hadn’t occured to me until I watched the Hovind series on evolution versus creation and it got me to thinking about just what our children were being taught. It was then that I decided I wanted to know first hand what my kids were being taught. The only downside was that my older ones were already jr high/high school age, and I wasn’t sure I was comforable jumping into the middle of schooling them at those grade levels. So mostly we just have Bible studies at home and some pretty deep conversations about these subjects.
It has been a very exciting experience! We are very active in our church and I also work part time as an Assistant Manager, managing apartment rentals, which can be very interesting at times, to say the least. It has definitely been challenging at times trying to juggle work, schooling, and all the other activities that we do. But it also has been very rewarding!
